Above photo snagged from the Craigslist Ad
Matt and I put a deposit down on a tiny art studio. The above photo shows the whole compound and our studio is on the very corner. There are two big windows which make it nice and bright and there is a flowerWe are very excited about this. For the longest time I've been saying that we need some more space and we finally found something within our budget and are committing to it. Now there can't be any procrastination happening!
I have to admit that I am a little nervous about it because I am not used to driving somewhere to do my creative work. I don't even think I can fit all of my supplies in the place. What if I need something that's not there? What if I become inspired to create and I don't feel like driving to the studio? It's a 20 minute commute like most everything else in Los Angeles. I abhor driving in LA and I avoid it as much as possible. I like being at home with my supplies and work table near me.
Wow, my work habits are going to go through a major overhaul.
You may be wondering, "Why get a studio then?" But we REALLY needed one. My art tables take up half the living room and when I work, the whole place looks like a tornado hit it even if I just made it spotless earlier that day. Now that Matt is in the sign painting program at LA Trade Tech, our place has become even more crowded with supplies. It's driving me crazy and I'm always cranky by feeling overcrowded.
It was definitely time to expand and make all of our ideas and dreams come true!
